Career:

1991

 First year of racing, as an amateur on a 600 Honda, an RC30 Honda and TZ250 Yamaha.     Won every race he finished, unbeaten in amateur career winning a record five national titles in the AMA/CCS Race of Champions at Daytona. Won a record eight national titles in the WERA/GNF meeting at Road Atlanta.
Turned professional in November 1991, finished second on 250cc national debut at Miami in final race of season.
1992

        Raced in 250cc national series, winning five of the nine races and title.

1993

 Signed a two-year contract to race for Yamaha in USA Superbike championship. Finished    sixth in first year.
1994

        Won three races and finished fifth in USA Superbike championship.

1995

Rode for factory Yamaha team in World Superbike championship. Finished 11th in series. Fourth Daytona 200 race. Fifth Suzuka 8 hours race.
1996
Finished fifth in World Superbike championship with seven podium finishes. Won Suzuka 8 hours race in Japan. Third in Daytona 200 race.
1997
Broke arm and collarbone during practice for fifth round of the World Superbike championship at Monza. Finished 12th in championship.
Third in Daytona 200 race.
1998
Raced for Castrol Honda World Superbike Championship Team. Fifth in World Superbike Championship.
1999
Raced for Castrol Honda World Superbike team. Second in World Superbike   Championship.
2000
Took victory in the World Superbike championship.
Finished first and first at Kyalami, South Africa; fifth and fifth at Phillip Island, Australia; fifth and third places at Sugo, Japan; first and dnf at Donington Park, GB; second and first at Monza, Italy; fourth and second at Hockenheim, Germany; dnf and 10th place at Misano, San Marino; fifth and fourth places at Valencia, Spain; second and fourth places at Laguna Seca, USA; 10th and sixth places at Brands Hatch, Europe; first and fifth at Assen, Holland; first and first at Oschersleben, Germany; eighth and first at Brands Hatch.
