1987     First mini-bike race on a Honda NSR 50 mid-way throug that season

1988     Mini-bike races, winning 10 events in his first full-season of competition

1989     2nd in 250cc Sports Production Championship behind team mate Tohru Ukawa, 1st in
             3-hour endurance race with Ukawa

1990     1st in Formula 3, 250cc Production and 250cc Club Championships, 20 race wins

1991     competed in Japanese 250cc Championship, with a best result of 5th

1992     6th in Japanese TT-F1 Championship for the factory Suzuki Team
             1st in Championship race at Fuji

1993     5th in Japanese TT-F1 Championship ( factory Suzuki Team)
             1st in Championship race at Suzuka

1994     10th in Japanese Superbike Championship (factory Suzuki Team)
             10th in Suzuka 8-Hour race

1995     6th in Japanese Superbike Championship (Kawasaki Racing Team)
             3rd in Suzuka 8-Hour race

1996     9th in Japanese Superbike Championship after early-season wrist injury
             5th in Suzuka 8-Hour race

1997     4th in World Superbike Championship(factory Kawasaki Racing Team), including two
             race wins at Sugo(Japan) and A1 Ring (Austria)

             7th in Suzuka 8-Hour race

1998     7th in World Superbike Championship for Kawasaki Racing Team

1999     5th World Superbike Championship with 9 podium finishes
             including one victory at Sugo/Jpn (factory Kawasaki Racing Team)

            3rd in Suzuka 8-Hour race

2000    5th World Superbike Championship (Kawasaki Racing Team) after breaking collar bone
            in first race of the 2000 season.
